How can contour lines be labeled?

Updated on tcpMDT Leer en español

The Label Contour Lines command in MDT offers three labeling methods: Automatic (at the initial and final points), Manual (specifying position), and by Direction Lines (labels all contours crossing a drawn line). It is possible to configure the number of decimals, text height, and whether the polyline should be split or use an opaque background to improve readability.

Additionally, to label elevation points of characteristic features that do not necessarily form part of a contour line (such as saddles, hills, or depressions), the program provides the Label Elevation command. After setting the appearance parameters, the user simply needs to click with the mouse on the desired point; the program will automatically calculate the elevation of the Convert Drawing at that position and propose it as a label, allowing the user to accept it or replace it with another manual value.
