How does the "Object Elevation" command work?

Updated on tcpMDT Leer en español

The Object Elevation allows you to convert 2D (flat) cartography into 3D, assigning elevations to lines, polylines, and arcs so they can be integrated into a digital model or generate cross sections. It offers several methods:

  • Zero Height/Increment: Assigns a fixed elevation to the selected objects.

  • Ends: Requests the initial and final elevations of an object and interpolates the intermediate values.

  • Comparison Plan: Allows assigning individual elevations to each vertex of a polyline.

  • Multiple: Elevates several contour lines simultaneously by specifying a Repeat value and a crossing line.

  • Surface: Assigns to each vertex the elevation corresponding to the current Surface, or uses POINTS if unavailable.

  • Inclined: Applies elevations from an inclined plane based on a point, a Slope, and a direction.
