How do I import a local system?
To import or apply a local system previously created in tcpGPS, you must follow the procedure to load a transformation file with the extension .ntr.
The steps and considerations are detailed below:
Procedure to apply a local system
Accessing the menu: Go to the path Menu > Local System > Apply.
File selection: Browse for and select the .ntr file containing the transformation you wish to use in the current project.
Point transformation options: Once the file is selected, the application will ask you which details you want to process:
Only points with raw data: Transforms only the points that were taken manually on the survey screen.
Transform all points: Includes both those taken in the field and points imported from external files into the project database.
Importing points to create a system
If your intention is to "import" destination coordinates to create a new local system by point pairs:
Within the creation tool by point pairs, you can press the Import GML button to load a .txt or .pun file (format: Number X Y Z Code).
If the numbers of the imported points match the existing source points, the application will create the point pairs automatically, speeding up the local system configuration.
DO NOT import points into the project to use them as objective/destination points in a local system. Import the file within the local system option.
Additional notes
File management: .ntr transformation files are usually saved in the project folder on the device.
Completion: If at any time you wish to stop using the transformation, you can go to Menu > Local System > Remove to return the points to their original coordinates. The transformation will not be lost; it will remain in the project folder.
