6.4 Importing GeoPackage Files

Next we will import other layers in GeoPackage format, an open standard format that allows different GIS layers to be stored in a single file. See https://www.geopackage.org/.

On the page mentioned at the beginning of this chapter, within topic 9 (Transport and communications), download the file in GeoPackage (gpkg) format and extract it to the folder C:/MDT25_Examples/Example06.

Run GIS > Import GIS Data and choose the file 094-dera-9-transportes-comunicaciones-gpkg.gpkg.

In the dialog, press Deselect All and select the layers T09_14_RedCarreteras and T09_21_Ferrocarril. Press Accept.

Using the CAD layer control, set red color to the roads layer and green color to the railways layer.
