How do you create and configure the representation of an alignment in the project?

Updated on tcp PointCloud Editor Leer en español

To start the design, the software allows you to Create Alignment by drawing a polyline directly in the Top View of the viewer. If you already have existing geometry, you can use the tool to Convert Polyline to Alignment.

A fundamental feature for interoperability is the Import Alignment command, which allows you to incorporate external designs into the project. This command is compatible with industry standard formats such as LandXML and files with the .eje extension generated by MDT.

As an advanced alternative within BIM workflows, the user can employ the Import IFC command. This tool allows importing alignments, meshes, and surfaces, standing out for its compatibility with version 4.3 of the IFC standard.

Once the alignment has been incorporated, you can customize its appearance using Alignment Dimensioning. This dialog allows you to adjust the color, the Projected factor of the marks, and define specific Intervals for short marks, long marks, and Critical Sections, facilitating visual interpretation of the KP (kilometer points) directly on the Point Cloud in the 3D viewer.
