How are longitudinal profiles and cross-sections generated from an axis?

Updated on tcp PointCloud Editor Leer en español

For a detailed analysis, the Profile command generates a cut along a selected axis, allowing data to be projected not only from point clouds, but also from meshes, surfaces, and 3D models. The user can define the initial and final stations, as well as symmetric or asymmetric bandwidths to control which points are included in the profile.

Similarly, the Cross Sections command calculates sections orthogonal to the axis at defined intervals. It offers advanced options such as the inclusion of critical sections of the axis, adjustment of left/right distances, and additional manual stations. After calculation, the results are displayed in a specific editor that allows sequential navigation through each cross section.
