What are coplanar cuts used for and what output options do they offer?
Coplanar Cuts allow generating "slices" of the point cloud at specific elevations or regular intervals, which is extremely useful for building projects, such as obtaining floor plans at different heights. The command requires configuring the band height for each cut, the initial and final elevation range, and allows establishing custom singular elevations.
The results can be sent directly to the Cross Section Editor for detailed analysis or exported as one or several CAD drawings. This last option generates files in DXF format or with the cross sections, facilitating subsequent delineation in external applications.
In addition to vector export, it is possible to save these cuts as georeferenced images in raster format such as JPG. When performing this export, the software generates an associated georeference file containing the resolution and rotation, allowing the floor plan image to be later inserted into a CAD program at its real scale and position using commands like INSIMG.
