What are BCF issues?
BCF issues are an advanced feature of tcpGPS (available exclusively in the Professional version) that allows adding and managing Remarks or problems detected in the field using the international standard BIM Collaboration Format (BCF).
What is the BIM methodology?
The BIM (Building Information Modeling, or Modeling) methodology is a collaborative work process for the management and generation of information throughout the life cycle of a construction project, from design and planning to execution and maintenance.
BIM uses three-dimensional digital models that contain geometric information (shapes, Number of rows) and associated data (Diameter, costs, times, sustainability, etc.). This allows all involved agents (architects, engineers, builders, Owner, etc.) to work on a single, updated model, facilitating coordination, detection of Layers, optimization of resources, and informed decision-making.
In short, BIM is not just software, but a methodology that transforms the traditional way of designing, constructing, and managing infrastructure and Buildings, improving efficiency, quality, and collaboration in projects.
And the BCF format is the way to share BIM information.
Below are the details of the application features for managing BCF Details:
Creation and Drawing Data of the Issue
Issues can be created during Survey, SETTING OUT LINES or Roads setting out tasks by pressing the corresponding button in the interface.
You can Check the procedure here.
APPLY and Editing
The user can review the complete list of registered problems by accessing Menu > Edit > Issues. In this screen it is possible to SELECT any issue to edit its data or delete it if it is no longer necessary, as indicated in more detail here.
Information Exchange (EXPORT/Import GML)
The application facilitates the workflow between the field and the office through the use of specific files, as explained in more detail here.
EXPORT: Issues can be saved to the Device memory or a user folder to share them via email or cloud services.
Import GML: It is possible to load files with Extension .bcfzip created on other Platform, integrating them directly into the current New Project database. There is an option to overwrite issues if duplicate Identifier (GUIs) are detected during import.
This tool is fundamental in projects coordinated under the BIM methodology, as it allows standardized communication of discrepancies found between the theoretical design and the reality of the terrain.
