How to export or import BCF Issues?

Updated on tcpGPS Leer en español

To export or import BCF Issues in TcpGPS (functionality exclusive to the Professional version), the steps for both operations are described below:

Importing BCF Issues

This function allows you to integrate issues created externally on other platforms compatible with the BCF standard into your current project.

  1. Access: Go to the path Import GML > Issues.

  2. File selection: Locate and load the file with the extension .bcfzip.

  3. Duplicate rule: When importing, the application allows you to check the box "Overwrite Issues with Existing GUIDs".

    • If checked: If duplicate unique identifiers (GUIDs) are detected, the application will replace the issue in the project with the one from the file.

    • If unchecked: Issues with GUIDs that already exist in the project will simply not be imported.

Exporting BCF Issues

Allows you to save problems recorded in the field to share them with the office or with other team members.

  1. Access: This is done through the OPTIONS menu for Issues.

  2. Destination selection: You can choose between two locations to generate the file:

    • Project folder: The file is saved in the internal memory (Android/data/com.aplitop.tcpgps/files/projects/[project-name]/bcf). This path is only accessible by connecting the Device to a computer via USB cable.

    • User folder: Allows you to choose any folder on the Device or on Google Drive using the Android SAF explorer. To do this, you must press the three-dot button (...), SELECT the folder, grant write permissions, and press EXPORT.

  3. Share: Once the export is complete, the application will give you the option to Share the file directly via email, messaging apps, or cloud services.

It is important to remember that all BCF Issues mandatorily include an Image captured on-site, as well as data such as the author, title, status, and Priority.
