14.3 Toolbar

The toolbar contains the controls for managing the CAD viewer and the current cross-section file:

File Menu

Open: Requests a TRA or TRI file and loads it into the panel and the CAD viewer.

Save: Saves the current cross-section to its file. If the file has not been saved yet, it will request a path for the new file.

History Menu

Undo: Undoes the last modification to the active cross-section.

Redo: Re-applies the last undone modification to the active cross-section.

These controls are only enabled when there is an active cross-section that has been modified.

Zoom Menu

Increase zoom: Increases the current zoom level.

Decrease zoom: Reduces the current zoom level.

Window zoom: Prompts for two vertices to form a window; the view becomes the content of that window.

Zoom extents: Sets the view so that all elements currently in the drawing are visible.

Measurement and Delete Menu

Measure: Prompts for two points and shows the distance between them. A line with the measurement text is added to the drawing.

Measure (XY): Same as Measure but also inserts two additional lines showing the X and Y distances between the two designated points.

Delete measurements: Deletes all measurements from the drawing.

Delete entities: Allows one to select entities and delete them from the drawing.

CAD Menu

Grid: Allows one to enable/disable the viewer grid.

Viewer background color: Allows one to set the background color of the CAD viewer.

Vertical factor: Sets a scaling factor for the vertical axis of the CAD viewer, allowing one to exaggerate or compress heights for better visualization.

Layer control: Allows one to manage the CAD viewer layers. Each layer has the following controls:

  • Visibility: Sets whether the layer is visible or not.
  • Delete: Removes the layer from the CAD.
  • Layer name: Allows one to modify the layer name.
  • Line/point thickness: Sets the line thickness of the layer (between 1 and 10).
  • Current layer: Allows one to select the current layer.
  • Global line thickness: Sets the line thickness of all layers simultaneously.

Entity Reference Menu

Point reference: If enabled, point entities are considered in entity reference.

End point reference: If enabled, entity vertices are considered in entity reference.

Mid point reference: If enabled, the central vertices of linear entity segments are considered.

Nearest point reference: If enabled, considers the vertex closest to the drawing cursor.

Enable/disable references: Sets whether entity reference should be considered.

Edit Menu

Draw polyline: Starts drawing a new cross-section polyline by clicking vertices in the CAD viewer.

Insert vertex: Inserts a new vertex into the selected polyline at a position designated by the user.

Delete vertex: Removes the vertex of the selected polyline nearest to the designated position.

Delete range: Deletes a range of vertices from the selected polyline between two designated positions.

Delete window: Deletes all vertices within a rectangular window from the selected polyline.

Merge polylines: Merges two polylines into a single one.

Quick edit: Enters a mode that allows rapid editing of vertices by clicking and dragging them in the CAD viewer.

Discard points: Removes reference points (from the .trs file) that are within a specified distance of the active cross-section polyline.

Cross-section Preview Menu

Provides options to control how the cross-section preview is displayed in the CAD viewer, including zoom and reference options.

Point Management Menu

Extract profile: Extracts a longitudinal profile from the reference point data along the cross-section.

Point thickness: Sets the display size of the reference points in the CAD viewer.

Delete points: Removes all reference points from the current station.
