Grade panel - TNC3
13.4 Grade Panel
Below the CAD viewer a panel is displayed with the node data of the grade:
Insert: Displays the Edit Grade Node dialog to insert a new node at the end of the grade.
Node list:
For each node the following information is shown in the list, from left to right:
Station: The station of the node.
Height: The height of the node.
Kv: The vertical curve radius at the node. If zero, the node is a simple break point with no vertical curve.
Tangent: The tangent length of the vertical curve at the node. Calculated automatically from the Kv value and the adjacent slopes.
Arrow: The arrow (sag or crest) of the vertical curve at the node. Calculated automatically.
Slope: The slope of the grade segment starting at this node, expressed as a percentage.
Edit: Displays the Edit Grade Node dialog to modify the node.
Delete: Removes the node from the grade.
Whenever a node is deleted or modified, the grade will be recalculated.
Grade tools:
In the lower right of the panel there are some tools for performing specific operations on the grade:
Shift Stations: Allows one to apply an offset to all node stations, shifting the entire grade along the station axis.
Shift Heights: Allows one to apply a vertical offset to all node heights, shifting the entire grade vertically.
Invert: Inverts the direction of the grade, so that the first node becomes the last.
If the active grade has been modified, when attempting to load a different grade or closing the application, a dialog will appear allowing one to save the changes to the original file or a new file, discard the changes, or cancel the close/file change.
