What exactly does a roughness map represent?
It is a graphical representation that shows the variations and irregularities in elevation of the land surface. It visually identifies areas with greater or lesser variability, such as hills, valleys, or depressions, which affect the shape of the terrain.
To create this map, it is essential to have previously established a surface as "current" in the drawing. Based on this surface, the program will internally generate a grid that will serve as the basis for performing roughness calculations.
The result of the process is a TIFF image. This image is automatically saved with the same name as the selected surface (for example, Superficie_roughness.tif).
