Can I draw a vertical alignment file already defined on the plan of my mapping?
Yes, it is perfectly possible to draw an already defined vertical alignment directly on the plan of your mapping using the specific command Draw Vertical Alignment on Plan, located in the Vertical Alignments module.
This command allows you to represent the vertical design as a 3D polyline integrated into the plan drawing, following these criteria:
Requirements and Procedure
File selection: When running the tool, the program will ask you to designate the vertical alignment file (.RAS) and the horizontal alignment that serves as its reference.
Drawing generation: MDT will project the vertical alignment elevations onto the horizontal alignment coordinates, creating a 3D polyline at its exact location within the mapping.
Configuration Options
During the process, you can customize the display with the following options:
Label Curves: Allows you to draw the vertical curves, including the entry and exit tangents.
Label Slope: The software can insert texts indicating the slope percentage of each section, automatically aligning them with the alignment.
Discretization Interval: You can define the distance between the vertices of the resulting 3D polyline to control the precision of the line on the plan.
This functionality is ideal for checking 3D interferences or for having a clear visual reference of the vertical design without needing to consult the profile separately
