I have a series of Station Points (P.K.) for which I want to calculate the vertical alignment elevation. Is there a tool that provides this information?

Updated on tcpMDT Leer en español

Yes, TcpMDT has several tools specifically designed to obtain the elevation of a vertical alignment from a specific Station Point (P.K.). Depending on how your data is structured and what result you need, you can use the following options:

Analyze Points in Profile (Main Tool)

This is the most direct tool for obtaining the vertical alignment elevation on an already drawn profile.

  • Operation: It allows you to select the Station Points graphically on the profile, enter them manually via keyboard, or read them from an external file where the first column is the Station Point.

  • Information provided: The program displays a list with the analyzed Station Point, the vertical alignment elevation, the ground elevation, and the "Excel" (difference between both).

  • Data output: The results can be printed or exported to an ASCII file or a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.

Vertical Alignment List

If you need a systematic list of elevations along the entire vertical alignment, the Vertical Alignment List command allows you to generate a report by configuring a specific Station Point interval. This list will include the vertices, the tangents of the curves, and the elevations calculated at each specified interval.
