Can I generate a report comparing two vertical alignments?

Updated on tcpMDT Leer en español

Yes, it is possible to generate a comparative report between two vertical alignments using the specific command Compare Vertical Alignments available in TcpMDT.

This command allows you to obtain a detailed report that contrasts the elevations of two previously selected vertical elements. The process and configuration options are as follows:

Report configuration parameters

When executing the option, a window opens where the criteria for the comparison are established:

  • Station Range: The Initial Station and Final Station between which the analysis is to be performed are defined.

  • Grade Line Vertices: By checking this box, the program includes in the report all points that constitute the vertices of each of the compared grade lines.

  • Interval: Allows defining a constant distance (sampling) to perform the comparison along the axis.

  • Specific Distances: Using the "Define..." button, the user has the option to insert specific station points they wish to analyze individually.

Results and Output

Once the data is validated, the software generates the corresponding report with information on the two grade lines. This report offers the following possibilities:

  • View: Displayed on screen for a quick review of elevation differences.

  • Print: Allows using the application's standard print options to obtain the document on paper or in digital formats.

  • Export: Generally, these reports can be exported to text files or formats compatible with spreadsheets for deeper external analysis
