How can a network be defined from an existing polyline?

MDT allows you to automatically generate pipes and nodes from a polyline on ground plan. If the polyline is 3D, the nodes take the elevations of its vertices; if it is 2D, you can specify an initial station and a fixed slope so that the program calculates the network elevations.
