How can you automatically generate longitudinal profiles based on changes to the alignment or surface?
To automatically generate longitudinal profiles in TcpMDT when modifications are made to the alignment or surface, certain requirements must be met and specific options enabled in the application:
Requirements and General Operation
Active Project: In MDT 25, it is essential to work with an active project file so that the program can automatically detect dependencies between the drawn profiles and other components (such as the surface and the alignment).
Automatic Process: Once configured, if the alignment (horizontal alignment) or the source surface is modified, the software automatically updates both the representation in the CAD drawing and the corresponding data files (.LON files for longitudinal profiles or .TRA files for cross-sections), without requiring manual intervention from the user.
How to Enable Updating
There are two main ways to enable this functionality:
When Drawing the Profile: In the drawing dialogs (whether for a Simple Profile, Composite Profile, or Cross-Sections), you must check the box "Update after changes to the axis or surface".
Through Profile Properties: If the profile is already drawn, you can use the Properties command by selecting the profile in the CAD. This dialog allows you to view the profile's characteristics and specify whether it should update automatically upon changes to the linked drawing.
