12.3 Toolbar

The toolbar contains the controls for managing the CAD viewer and the current axis file:

File Menu

The file menu controls allow one to open existing files or save modifications to the axis being edited:

New: Requests the path for the new EJE file and allows one to create a new axis from scratch.

Open: Requests an EJE or LandXml file and incorporates it into the panel and the CAD viewer. If a LandXml file with multiple defined axes is imported, a dialog will be shown to select the axis to import. Once accepted, the path for the imported EJE file will be requested and it will be set as active in the application.

Save: If there is an active axis, by default it will request a location to store a new EJE or LandXml file with the current axis data: if it has been modified, the changes will be saved; otherwise it will be an exact copy of the original. If the output file extension is changed, or there is no active axis at the time of clicking this icon, the following options will be presented:

  • Save as dxf: Saves the current CAD viewer drawing to a dxf file. This includes any annotations.
  • Save as jpg: Allows one to save a georeferenced screenshot of what is currently visible in the CAD viewer.

Georeferenced Screenshot

Current View: Indicates the screen size in meters and pixels.

Designate: Clicking enters a zoom window command to define a region of the drawing for export.

Resolution: Sets an arbitrary resolution, in pixels, for the captured image.

Pixel size: Indicates the scale of each pixel in the exported image.

Keep aspect ratio: When enabled, forces the resolution and pixel size to have the same aspect ratio as the CAD viewer.

Generate Georeference: If enabled, exports a jpw georeferencing file alongside the jpg image.

History Menu

Undo: Undoes the last modification to the active axis.

Redo: Re-applies the last undone modification to the active axis.

These controls are only enabled when there is an active axis that has been modified.

Zoom Menu

Increase zoom: Increases the current zoom level.

Decrease zoom: Reduces the current zoom level.

Window zoom: Prompts for two vertices to form a window; the view becomes the content of that window.

Zoom extents: Sets the view so that all elements currently in the drawing are visible.

Measurement and Delete Menu

Measure: Prompts for two points and shows the distance between them. A line with the measurement text is added to the drawing.

Measure (XY): Same as Measure but also inserts two additional lines showing the X and Y distances between the two designated points.

Delete measurements: Deletes all measurements from the drawing.

Delete entities: Allows one to select entities and delete them from the drawing.

CAD Menu

Grid: Allows one to enable/disable the viewer grid.

Viewer background color: Allows one to set the background color of the CAD viewer.

Layer control: Allows one to manage the CAD viewer layers. Each layer has the following controls:

  • Visibility: Sets whether the layer is visible or not.
  • Delete: Removes the layer from the CAD.
  • Layer name: Allows one to modify the layer name.
  • Line/point thickness: Sets the line thickness of the layer (between 1 and 10).
  • Current layer: Allows one to select the current layer.
  • Global line thickness: Sets the line thickness of all layers simultaneously.

Entity Reference Menu

Point reference: If enabled, point entities are considered in entity reference.

End point reference: If enabled, entity vertices are considered in entity reference.

Mid point reference: If enabled, the central vertices of linear entity segments are considered.

Nearest point reference: If enabled, considers the vertex closest to the drawing cursor.

Enable/disable references: Sets whether entity reference should be considered.
