How do I create building floor plans and elevations with tcp PointCloud Editor?
Tcp PointCloud Editor provides a robust ecosystem for architectural delineation, allowing dense point clouds to be transformed into editable vector plans. The optimized workflow for buildings is structured as follows:
Point Cloud Cleaning and Refinement
Before starting delineation, it is essential to ensure an accurate database using various cleaning techniques:
Removal of isolated points: statistical filters are used that analyze the neighborhood of each point to suppress erroneous returns or noise.
Removal of points outside the area of interest: allows manual clipping of Exterior Points outside the building or belonging to irrelevant levels.
Suppression of low-density areas: identifies and removes regions with scarce information that could distort automatic Vectorize processes.
Classification and Structural Identification
After cleaning, the software allows applying AI Classification using a specific Interiors model. This process automatically identifies and labels elements such as walls, floors, ceilings, doors, and windows, facilitating selective visualization of the architectural Structure.
Floor Plan Generation
For horizontal delineation, the system features specialized tools for geometry detection:
RASTER EDITOR: this is the main environment for designing floor plans, allowing a height band to be established to generate raster images of building sections and apply automatic vectorization algorithms for walls.
COPLANAR CUTS: generates horizontal cuts at precise elevations that serve as a visual Reference or drawing base for the different levels of the building.
Elevation and Section Delineation
For work on Vertical planes and facades, projection and cut functions are included:
Set Plane Reference: defines a drawing plane adjusted exactly to the facade, allowing arcs and polylines to be vectorized directly on the point cloud with the assurance that the geometry remains in the vertical plane.
Quick Profile: facilitates the creation of instant vertical sections to analyze ceiling heights, slab thicknesses, and ornamental Details.
Integration with External CAD Applications
The workflow is completed with high interoperability, allowing you to CONNECT TO CAD to synchronize drawing in real time with platforms such as AutoCAD, BricsCAD, or ZWCAD. It is also possible to perform a bulk TRANSFER LAYERS TO CAD to finalize architectural detailing and dimensioning in the user's preferred delineation environment.
