How does tcp PointCloud Editor automatically extract street furniture and vertical elements?

The software features an Object Extraction module designed to streamline inventorying in urban or road environments. Using the Detect Vertical Elements command, the system analyzes the point cloud and automatically groups those that meet certain geometric definitions, such as streetlights, signs, or towers.

The user can define minimum and maximum height parameters, as well as specific radii for each type of object. Once detected, they can be reviewed using the Apply Extracted Features command, which allows you to plot each element in the 3D viewer, edit them, or export a detailed list in CSV format.

Together with the vectorization tools in plan and elevation, which allow you to measure and draw directly on the point cloud or on 360º images, automatic extraction greatly reduces drawing and office time compared with traditional manual drawing.
