How can I import a WMS layer?
To import and configure a Web Map Service (WMS/WMTS) layer in TcpGPS, you must use the application's layer manager. This type of layer allows loading geographic information directly from remote servers to visualize it in your work area.
The steps to perform this process are detailed below:
Accessing the Layer Manager
From the map screen (either in Survey or Setting Out Lines), open the Layer Manager.
Press the Add Layer (+) button.
Select the layer type WMS Layer.
Service Configuration
Once the option is selected, the editing screen will open where you can manage the services:
Add manually: Press the Add (+) button and enter an identifying name and the corresponding server URL.
Import a list: If you have a text file (TXT), you can press the Import Services button. The file must have the format
<Name> <URL>(and optionally<User> <Password>if the service is private). Each line is a WMS service.Select specific layers: After connecting to the service, the application will display a list of the layers available on that server. You must select the ones you wish to visualize in the project.
Visual Properties
Within the WMS layer editing screen, you can also adjust:
Opacity: Adjust the transparency level to simultaneously view other layers or the base map.
Name: Assign a custom name to identify the layer in your layer list.
Note: The software allows configuring a WMS/WMTS service to act as the Default Base Map in all new projects through the application configuration menu.
