How do I release the license to activate it on another device?
To release the tcpGPS license and activate it on a new device, you must follow a manual release process from the application on the original device. It is mandatory to perform this step before uninstalling the application to ensure that the license becomes available for transfer.
Below are the steps and important considerations:
Steps to release the license
Open the application on the device where it is currently activated.
Access the main menu with a project open and navigate to Menu > Application > License.
Press the Release license button.
Once the release is confirmed, the license will be deleted from the current device and will be ready for use on another terminal.
Activation on the new device
Once released, simply install the application on the new device and proceed with online activation using your usual credentials (email, country, and activation code).
Special cases (loss, breakage, or prior uninstallation)
If you forgot to release the license: If the application has already been uninstalled or the original device is inaccessible due to breakage or theft, you will not be able to perform the manual release.
Technical Support: In these cases, you must contact Aplitop support by going to the Aplitop. Surveying and Civil Engineering Software website, accessing Support > Support Center, and sending a support form. They will guide you through recovering your license, although you may need to submit a statement of facts or, in case of theft, a copy of the police report listing the license.
Replacement: Please note that license replacement due to damage or loss may incur a cost depending on the circumstances.
