How do you set out a polyline?

Updated on tcpGPS

To perform the setting out of a polyline in tcpGPS, you must access the menu Setting Out > Polyline Setting Out. This function allows you to work with both polylines or polygons from imported cartography (DXF, KML/KMZ, GML or shape) and with the linear entities captured during the project survey.

The following steps and working modes are described below:

  • PK (Kilometric Point) Mode: When selecting a polyline, the application starts in this mode by default. The screen displays the movements and distances required to reach the trajectory of the line at any point along its route.

  • Vertices Mode: You can switch between PK setting out and vertex setting out using the specific buttons on the toolbar. In this mode, the points forming the polyline are marked graphically, and the application automatically selects the nearest vertex to your current position, although you can manually change vertices using the navigation buttons.

  • Visual and Audio Guidance: As with other types of setting out, the system offers assistance via the map, compass, or target, as well as providing voice prompts to indicate the required movements.
