What mesh and surface formats are compatible with the program?
Tcp PointCloud Editor offers high versatility for the exchange of digital models, allowing both import and export of regular meshes and triangulated surfaces (TIN) in the most widespread industry standards.
Below are the supported formats classified by their application:
Standard Exchange and BIM Formats:
IFC (.ifc): allows the export and import of meshes and surfaces for integration into building and infrastructure projects under BIM methodology.
LandXML (.xml): fundamental format in civil engineering that allows the exchange of surfaces and elements (axes) between different design platforms.
GeoTIFF (.tif): compatible with georeferenced digital elevation models, facilitating the analysis of elevations and slopes directly on the imported model.
Interoperability with TcpMDT:
The software is fully compatible with the native formats of TcpMDT, facilitating the workflow with Aplitop design tools through MDE (Binary Mesh), MLL (ASCII Mesh), and SUP (Aplitop Surface) files.
GIS Formats:
Esri Ascii Grid (.asc): standard for managing elevation grids in geographic information systems.
In addition to file compatibility, the program includes advanced tools for managing these models, such as Surface to Mesh Conversion, Area Cut to extract specific zones from the model, and the generation of Contours exportable to CAD formats.
