How can I create a LandXML file from the segment?
To create a LandXML file from a segment in TcpMDT, you must use the specific export tool that allows integrating the various components of the linear project into a single XML file.
The steps to perform this process are as follows:
Access the command: Go to the BIM menu and select the option Export LandXML.
Select the segment: In the configuration window that appears, locate the section called Horizontal alignment/Segment. When you select your segment file (.SEG) in this field, the program will automatically include the alignment, cross-sections, and vertical profile contained in that segment for export.
Configure options: You can click the Options button to adjust the format of the output file. In this section, you can:
Specify units: If you have configured the units in the program (Meters, Feet, etc.), MDT will perform the necessary conversion so that the LandXML file is consistent.
Define the target application: Although not essential, you can indicate which software will receive the file to optimize compatibility.
Other optional inclusions: If the drawing contains MDT plots and you wish to include them, you can check the Export plot drawings box. You can also add point files or additional surfaces in their respective fields.
Completion: After validating the dialog, the program will prompt for the name and location of the resulting file. If you check the See XML document box, the file will open automatically in your web browser once the conversion is complete.
Additionally, tools such as Review Alignment and Review Vertical Profile allow you to individually open or save files in LandXML format for those specific components.
