What external formats can be imported as surfaces?

Updated on tcpMDT Leer en español

It is possible to import surfaces created with other programs using several commands:

  • Create Surface, supporting formats such as Geotiff and Laser LAS/LAZ.

  • IMPORT IFC: once an IFC file is selected, a window opens displaying the general project data and a list of the elements contained in the file. The detected surfaces will appear in this list. The user has individual control over each one through the following options:

        ◦ Import (Yes/No): Determines whether the element will be processed to create an MDT surface file.

        ◦ DRAW (Yes/No): Defines whether, after import, the surface will be automatically represented in the current CAD drawing.

        ◦ Destination File: Allows specifying the name and location of the MDT surface file that will be generated from the IFC data.

  • IMPORT LANDXML; similarly to the previous command, once a LandXML file is selected, the program will display the file contents in a window.
