How are Lines & Polygons created?
To create Lines & Polygons in tcpGPS, you can use both graphic drawing TOOLS and classification via codes during the Survey.
Creation using drawing TOOLS
The application allows you to DRAW Objects by joining points through graphic designation directly on the map.
Lines: Select the lines TOOL and tap on the previously taken X, Y that will act as vertices. To confirm and save the current line, perform a long press on any point on the screen. It is required that the code selected at that time is of linear type.
Polygons: Use the polygons TOOL and select the points that will form the Plot. When performing a long press on the screen, the Polygon will close, its edges will become Interval, and the Outer area will be shown colored. You must have a Raise type code selected before Using a point from the current project.
Management via Survey codes
Objects are classified and drawn automatically based on the assigned code, which can be point, linear (for polylines) or Raise (for areas or Plots).
Control suffixes: During SURVEY, you can mark the start or end of a line, or the start or closure of a polygon by pressing the corresponding button. You can create a new line by adding a start code again; this will Delete the previous line automatically.
Multiple Objects: It is possible to have several lines or Polygons with the same code open simultaneously if different Prefixes are used for each one.
Organization and additional TOOLS
Layers: Lines and Polygons are automatically organized into line layers and polygon layers created by Remarks when starting the New Project, or in custom layers associated with their codes.
Plot editing: The application includes TOOLS to segregate a Plot into two (by selecting the Polygon and tapping two vertices) or Grouping two contiguous Polygons into one.
Data query: Once an Object is created, you can WATCH information such as its Length, perimeter, or area simply by tapping on it on the map.
Import: Lines and Polygons can also be integrated by importing cartography Files in Formats such as DXF, DWG, KML, or Shape.
