What are the CAD tools and how to use them?
The CAD TOOLS of TcpGPS allow you to draw graphic objects in the field by connecting points via manual designation, facilitating the creation of basic cartography during the Survey. To access them, you must press the CAD TOOLS button (icon with points connected by lines) located on the toolbar of the Survey window.
The available tools and their operation are detailed below:
Creation of Objects
Polygons: Allows you to add Plots or polygons consecutively by clicking on the points that will act as vertices. To close and save the polygon, you must click the first vertex again or perform a long press on the screen. It is essential to have previously selected a Polygonal type Code.
Lines: Facilitates the creation of lines by clicking on previously taken X, Y. To confirm and finish the current line, perform a long press anywhere on the screen. Requires the use of a linear type Code.
Points: Allows you to generate a point directly by tapping any part of the map on the screen, provided the active Code is of point type.
Editing and Management
Segmentation: This tool is used for the division of existing Plots or polygons into smaller entities.
Grouping: Allows the union of contiguous Plots or polygons to convert them into a single entity.
Delete: Used to remove lines and polygons from the project. When activated, you must select the Details one by one (they will be marked with shading) and press the delete button again to execute the deletion after prior confirmation.
Important considerations
Codes: The correct interpretation of these tools depends on the Code suffixes (start/end of line or start/close of polygon), which serve as a Reference for the application to generate the objects correctly.
Symbology: The created objects will be drawn in their respective layers with the custom symbology (color, thickness, fill) defined in the project's Code database.
