Draw longitudinal profile
Draws in CAD the complete longitudinal profile of an alignment — terrain line and profile table with elevations, distances and grades — at the specified scale. The drawing is always inserted in model space, with the origin calculated automatically by MDT.
Critical prerequisite: Generate longitudinal profile must have been run first for the same alignment. If the .lon file does not exist, the command will fail.
Parameters
Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| text | Yes | — | Name (partial, case-insensitive) of the alignment. Must match the name used in Generate profile. |
| number | No | 1000 | Horizontal scale denominator. Example: |
| number | No | 1000 | Vertical scale denominator. May differ from horizontal to exaggerate the relief. |
Result
Complete longitudinal profile drawn in model space: scaled terrain line and profile table with elevation data, partial distances and grades. The assistant returns the applied scale.
Tip: To exaggerate the relief on flat terrain, use a smaller vertical scale than the horizontal (for example, H 1:2000, V 1:500). MDT places the profile automatically in a free area of the drawing.
Example prompts
You can ask the assistant things like:
Draw the profile for alignment "carretera" at scale 1:1000
Draw the profile for EJE-1 with horizontal scale 1:2000 and vertical 1:500
Generate and draw the access road alignment profile at scale 1:500
