tcpMDT
Query active surface information
Returns the status and statistics of the surface currently assigned in the active MDT drawing. Supports TIN triangulated surface (.sup) and raster grid (.mde). If there is no active surface, it indicates this explicitly without producing any error.
Prerequisites: The MDT plugin must be loaded and there must be an active drawing. A surface is not required; if there is none, the command simply states this.
Parameters
This command has no parameters.
Result
TIN surface (
.sup): name, number of triangles and vertices, 2D area (plan) and 3D area (real), elevation range (min/max), CAD layer and full path of the.supfile.Raster grid (
.mde): name, number of valid cells, 2D area, elevation range and path of the.mdefile.
Tip: The full file path returned by this command is the value you need as the surface_file_1 or surface_file_2 parameter in Calculate volumes between surfaces.
Example prompts
You can ask the assistant things like:
Is there an active surface in the drawing?
Give me the statistics for the current surface
How many triangles does the surface have and what is the elevation range?
What is the area of the loaded grid?
What surface is assigned to the drawing?
Where is the surface file saved?
