How can I transfer a license?

There are two methods for transferring licenses:

To transfer an APLITOP license between computers, there are two main methods: the automatic method, which is the simplest, and the manual method, useful when the first one is not possible.

1. Automatic License Transfer

This method is performed directly from the MDT/PCE program.

Start the process: On the computer where the license is located, access the MDT/PCE menu and select Utilities > Transfer License.
Choose the timing: Select whether you want to perform the transfer immediately (closing the CAD) or postpone it until the current session is closed.
Authentication: Enter your credentials from the Aplitop website (username and password) and click Transfer.
Obtain the code: The system will display a confirmation code, which will also be sent by email.
Activation on the new PC: Open MDT/PCE on the destination computer. When the activation dialog appears, enter your credentials, select the Transferred license option, paste the received code, and click Activate.

NETWORK REQUIREMENT FOR THE AUTOMATIC TRANSFER

In addition to having an Internet connection, both computers —the one releasing the license and the one receiving it— must be able to connect to Aplitop's license server https://licenses.aplitop.com on port 443 (TCP/HTTPS).

This connection is essential both to transfer a standalone (single-seat) license (LDK software key) and to register or activate it for the first time, in MDT and in PCE.

The domain, Active Directory policies (GPO), the perimeter or local firewall, the proxy server and any SSL inspection systems must explicitly allow this outbound connection on every computer involved. Full technical details are available in Network requirements to activate or transfer a license.

2. Manual License Transfer

This method uses the RUS_APLITOP.exe tool, located by default in C:\Archivos de Programa (x86)\Aplitop\MDT25\Driver. It consists of three steps:

Step 1: Collect information (On the new PC):
1. Run RUS_APLITOP.exe and go to the Transfer License tab.
2. In the "Collect information about the destination computer" box, save a file that will serve as the "fingerprint" of the new computer.
Step 2: Generate the transfer file (On the PC with the license):
1. Run RUS_APLITOP.exe and go to Transfer License.
2. Select the MDT/PCE license line from the list.
3. Load the "fingerprint" file generated in Step 1.
4. Specify a destination for the new transfer file and click Generate License Transfer File.
5. Important: After this step, the license is deactivated on this computer and can only be installed on the new one.
Step 3: Apply the license (On the new PC):
1. Run RUS_APLITOP.exe and go to the Generate Transfer File tab.
2. Load the transfer file generated in Step 2 and click Apply Update.

Security Warning: It is essential to perform any of these transfers before formatting the computer, changing the operating system, or making substantial hardware modifications, as otherwise the license could be irreversibly lost.
